2024 Girls Volleyball Playoff Protocols

Crew Chief Responsibilities:
The Crew Chief (aka R1) MUST:
… Contact the crew at least one day prior to the match to confirm location, arrival time and color shirt crew will be wearing.
... Polo Shirts: R1/R2 must match color. LJs must match each other but can be different color than R1/R2.

… Contact the assigner after the match to advise of results and any problems with crew, teams or fans.

OFFICIALS ARRIVAL:

... Officials (R1 and R2) are to be at the game site and by in the gym at least ONE HOUR prior to the scheduled start of the match and are to check in with the Site Administrator.
... Linespeople must arrive and be in the gym at least 30-minutes prior to the scheduled start of the match.

HOME TEAM:
... The home team is determined by the NCS.

SPORTSMANSHIP MEETING:
Prior to the start of the match, a sportsmanship meeting will be held with the administrators-in-charge, coaches, captains of each team, officials, cheerleader advisors, cheerleader captains and student representatives of the participating teams.
The home school administrator will conduct the sportsmanship meeting.

ADMINISTRATOR IN CHARGE:
Each school must have an Administrator-In-Charge unless a school is traveling more than 150 miles to the game site.
The Site Director will contact the NCS Office if a team does not have an Administrator-In-Charge.
The officials shall not begin the match until the Site Director has contacted the NCS Office and thereafter directs the officials to begin the contest.

OFFICIAL MATCH BALL:
The official ball for the 2024 school year will be the Spalding TF VB5 or any Spalding ball that meets the National Federation Volleyball Rules Book specifications.
The game must be played with an official Spalding game ball. It does not have to be the ball given to each school but must be a Spalding volleyball. No other ball may be used.

PENALTY FOR GAME BALL VIOLATION: NCS must be notified and will penalize the host school accordingly per NCS Policy.

EJECTED PLAYERS / COACHES:
The names and number(s) of the player(s) and the name of coaches who are ejected from the match must be reported to the association assigner within four hours of the match.
The association assigner will forward the report onto the NCS Assistant Commissioner (Bri Niemi) within twelve (12) hours of the game.
The number(s) of the player(s) and the name of coaches who are ejected from the game must be reported to the NCS Officials Liaison (Mike aaronian) within twenty-four (24) hours of the game. Please leave a message at (925) 263-2110 x210 or by email at ejections@cifncs.org.

WARM-UPS:
One hour prior to the match time, the court surface is open for warm-ups. Players may be on the playing surface to stretch, run or pass during this time.
Use of the net will begin during the official 20-minute pre-match warm-up time.
The 20-minute warm-up period shall be divided as follows:
... 1. First ten minutes the
serving team shall have the entire court.
... 2. Second ten minutes the team
receiving shall have the entire court.
... 3. NO combined serving.
